This photo was taken at a meeting held on May 16 at Nano Nagle Birthplace, Killavullen on Chaplaincy to Post-Primary schools. The meeting was led by Mary Coffey of Dublin City University. We reflected on the work of the chaplain in the pastoral care of students and staff. Its essential cornerstone is the chaplain’s own faith. While some schools have chaplains appointed to the role by the school authorities, most rely on their local priests and parish pastoral workers to fulfil the ministry. There are 29 post-primary schools in the Diocese of Cloyne.
