The Angel of Peace appeared to the visionaries of Fatima THREE TIMES (Spring, Summer and Autumn of 1916)
Our Lady appeared to the visionaries of Fatima SIX TIMES between 13th May 1917 and 13th October 1917.

About the Apparitions of the Angel of Peace, 1916:
This year (2016) is the one hundredth anniversary of the Apparition of an Angel to the three little Shepherds of Fatima, Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco.
One hundred years ago (1916) in a tiny village called Fatima in Portugal, an Angel appeared to three children, Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco on three separate occasions. He taught them payers and how to make sacrifices to God and gave them Holy Communion. He instilled in them a great love for the Eucharist. Sr. Lucia recounted these events in her memoirs.
The First apparition (of the Angel of Peace), during the course of which the Angel of Peace spoke to the little shepherds is thought to have been in the Spring of 1916. The little Shepherds did not speak about the apparition but Sister Lucia explained in her memoir : « I can’t be precise about the dates, because at that time I didn’t yet know how to count the years, or the months, or even the days of the week. Despite everything, it seems to me that it must have been in the spring of 1916 that the Angel appeared to us for the first time at our Loca du Cabeço.
She goes on to say:
“That day, we climbed the hillside, looking for shelter, and after having had a snack and prayed, we had begun to see, at some distance, above the trees which extended towards the east, a light whiter than snow, having the form of a young man, a transparent light, more brilliant than the rays of the sun passing through a crystal. As the apparition approached, we could distinguish his features more easily. We were surprised, and absorbed. We did not say a word. On nearing us, the Angel said to us ‘Fear not. I am the Angel of Peace. Pray with me.’ And kneeling on the earth, he lowered his forehead to the ground. Prompted by a supernatural impulse, we imitated him and repeated the words which we heard him pronounce : ‘My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love You. I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love You’. After having repeated this prayer three times, he rose and said to us: ‘Pray in this way. The Hearts of Jesus and Mary are attentive to your supplications’. And he disappeared.”
The Second apparition (of the Angel of Peace) occurred in Summer, when near the well of Lucia’s house. Sr. Lucia recounts: “The Angel said to us: “What are you doing? Pray! Pray a great deal. The Hearts of Jesus and Mary have merciful designs on you. Offer prayers and sacrifices continually to the Most High.” The children asked: “How must we sacrifice ourselves?” The angel said: “Make everything you do a sacrifice, and offer it as an act of reparation for the sins by which God is offended, and as a petition for the conversion of sinners. By this you will bring peace to your country. I’m its Guardian Angel, the Angel of Portugal. Above all accept and bear with submission all the suffering the Lord will send you.”
The Third apparition (of the Angel of Peace) took place once again in the Loca de Cabeco where he appeared the first time and it is thought this took place in the Autumn.Sr. Lucia recounts this apparition: “After we had repeated this prayer I don’t know how many time we saw the shining over us a strange light. We lifted our heads to see what was happening. the Angel was holding in his left hand a chalice and over it, in the air, was a host from which drops of blood fell into the chalice. The Angel leaves the chalice in the air, kneels near us and tells us to repeat three times: Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly, and I offer You the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which He is offended. And by the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners. After that he rose, took again in his hand the chalice and the host. The host he gave to me and the contents of the chalice he gave to Jacinta and Francisco, saying at the same time, Eat and drink the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ terribly outraged by the ingratitude of men. Offer reparation for their sakes and console God. Once more he bowed to the ground repeating with us the same prayer thrice: Oh, Blessed Trinity ….. and disappeared. Overwhelmed by the supernatural atmosphere that involved us, we imitated the Angel in everything, kneeling prostrate as he did and repeating the prayers he said.”
In this way the three little shepherds were prepared for the visit of Our Lady to them in 1917.
May the Prayers of the Angel instill in us a deeper love of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
