The Lourdes Youth Helpers are a voluntary group of approximately 50 young people who accompany the Cloyne Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes from 1st – 6th June every year.
Youth Helpers enable people for whom it would otherwise prove impossible to go on pilgrimage to Lourdes by helping with meal times, transport (including wheelchairs, voitures and blue chairs) and most importantly their time, talent, friendship and good humour.
As pilgrims themselves, students are invited to join in the choir, play a musical instrument and take an active part in all ceremonies (Lector/Altar Server/Offertory etc). The schedule provides ample time for students to enjoy some personal time for reflection at the sanctuary and enjoy some rest and relaxation with friends. Working as a team in the spirit of St. Bernadette, Lourdes offers students a memorable experience of faith and friendship.
