Diocesan Clergy Changes

CLOYNE DIOCESAN CHANGES JULY 2018

Most Rev. William Crean has accepted the resignation from office of the following priests in the Diocese of Cloyne to come into effect at noon on 7th July 2018.

• V. Rev. Richard P. Browne, P.P., Cill na Martra
• Rt. Rev. Msgr. Eamonn Goold, P.E. as Vicar General

Bishop Crean has made the following appointments in the Diocese of Cloyne with effect from noon 7th July 2018.

V. Rev. Michael Lomasney, P.E., to take personal leave.
Rev. Joseph O’Mahony, C.C., Macroom to be Adm. Cill na Martra
Rev. Paul Bennett, C.C., Mallow to be CC Blarney
Rev. Tom Naughton, C.C. Charleville to be C.C. Mallow
V. Rev. Canon Anthony O’Brien, P.P., Mallow, to be Vicar General
V. Rev. Canon Jim Killeen, P.P., Midleton, to be Vicar General

The Bishop of Cloyne welcomes the establishment of a community of Sisters from the “Servants of the Home of the Mother” who will be based in Mitchelstown, and looks forward to working with them.

The Bishop also looks forward to welcoming a community of Priests and Brothers also from the “Servants of the Home of the Mother” who will be based in Mallow and who will work in evangelisation throughout the Diocese.

For the immediate future it will be a feature of Diocesan Changes that unfortunately some parishes will not have a resident priest.

We ask you to pray for those who are currently in a time of transition in their ministry.
