Bishop Crean launches new youth evangelisation initiative

Bishop William Crean has launched a new Cloyne Diocesan Youth Service initiative aimed at supporting young people in their faith journey in the Diocese.

Cloyne Diocesan Youth Service are delighted to announce a new partnership with Alpha Youth Ireland to develop and promote parish based supports for young people to support them in exploring and developing their faith throughout our Diocese. CDYS has a long history of working with young people in diverse, proactive and imaginative ways that nurtures and encourages young people to reach their full potential, in a safe and supportive community. Alpha is a tool for evangelisation at the service of the local parish and in partnership with CDYS will enable young people to engage with and explore their faith.

Alpha Youth Ireland (www.alphaireland.org) was established by Alpha Ireland in 2011 with the focus and vision to see youth ministry in Ireland become a major part of parish life for all. Alpha Youth are delighted to be working in partnership with Cloyne Diocesan Youth Services to assist in reach out to young people in the Diocese of Cloyne.

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that explore the basics of the Christian faith and is being run in 169 countries worldwide including thousands of Catholic parishes and offers young people the opportunity to explore and develop their faith. Alpha-Youth is designed to actively engage young people in conversations about faith, life and Jesus. AY invites young people to explore their faith in a fun, friendly & relaxed atmosphere where no question is too big or too small! Every session includes food, fun, film presentation and group discussion. AY offers a safe & genuine opportunity for honest and open dialogue where young people can speak their minds about faith and God.
